History of this premier institution of nursing education dates back to 1999. This institution is a brain child of a doctor, who rendered health services for the poor and under­ privileged people while working in various government hospitals in India. Dr. Sarbjit Singh is not only a doctor but also a philosopher and philanthropist with great exposure and far sighted vision. He faced acute shortage of nursing professionals throughout his service. Dr. Sarbjit Singh also felt that the sense of selfless service is incomparable in the women of rural areas. All this, gave birth to the idea of providing professional training and necessary education to the rural girls and turn them into trained nurses for the service of nation in particular and humanity at large.

Nightingale College of Nursing and College of Education are situated in historical village Narangwal in the vicinity of big industrial city of Ludhiana in Punjab, India. This village has produced freedom fighters like BHAI RANDHIR SINGH, civil as well as defense officers and educationists. The 6th chief minister of Punjab in India, Mr. Gurnam Singh was also born in this fertile village.
Florence Nightingale's lasting contribution has been her role in founding the modern nursing profession. She set an example of compassion, commitment to patient care and diligent and thoughtful hospital administration. Nightingale fundamentally changed the role of nursing in hospitals, and was a key figure in introducing new professional training standards. Named after 'The Lady with the Lamp', this unique institution is aimed to produce skilled, dedicated and professional nurses in accordance with global standards. It is also helping in achieving the international goals towards women empowerment by providing quality professional education and training, making them more confidant, independent and self-reliant. Picture of the Florence Nightingale is thoughtfully placed in the college logo to imbibe the values and qualities of selfless service to the humanity among our students and future nurses.

OUR INFRASTRUCTURE

Nightingale college of nursing has been established in 2005 with a sprawling campus of 5 acres, meticulously planned in a number of functional building blocks separated by lush green lawns, leaves a visitor spellbound, situated in Narangwal Kalan, Ludhiana Punjab.
