Welcome to Shri J. G. Co-operative Hospital Society’s Sahakar Maharshi Shri BA Patil Ayurvedic Medical College, Ghataprabha, Belagavi District.
The founder president late Shri Jagadguru Gurusiddheswar Rajayogindra Mahaswamiji had a great faith in Ayurveda, which, in itself was a tremendous impetus for the then president Late Shri Jagadguru Dr. Gangadhar Rajayogindra Mahaswamiji and board of management of the society to start this Ayurvedic Medical College for the benefit of the needy rural students and suffering populous of the nearby areas.
The unstinted efforts put by Shri A.B. Patil. Ex –Minister and Ex- MLA, Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and other well-wishers of the Society, this college got established in the year 1996-97 with intake capacity of 25 students. Subsequently the intake strength has been increased to 100 seats in BAMS course from 2019-20 and Our College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Ban----

The college is having all 14 departments as per CCIM norms with all laboratory, instruments, equipment’s, models and charts for teaching to the students. All necessary additional facilities have been provided for PG Courses.
A well-established library containing more than 12000 books on different subjects, a rich specimen herbal garden sprawling over about 3 acres of land and separate hostel for boy’s and girl students with required facilities are available. All the facilities for indoor as well as out-door games have also been provided.
150 beded Ayurvedic Hospital with all types of facilities and special emphasis on Ksharasootra and Panchakarma therapy is available. Regular medical camps in nearby villages where free medical check-ups and free medicines are being dispensed to the needy poor patients. Regular Health check-up camps and “Swarna Prasana” Camps for small children are regularly conducted, also providing medicine to the poor patients in the camps.
College is conducting guest lectures, CMEs for updating the knowledge of students and Teachers. Teachers of the college are sent to various State Level, National Level, and International Seminars, Workshops etc, across the country for updating the teaching skills.

Shri J. G. Co-Operative Hospital and Research Institute, Ghataprabha is a state level Charitable Co-operative Society and a trust established in the year 1951. We are providing satisfactory and high quality health services in Medical, Nursing, Education and Social services to rural and needy people.
Institute has established following sub institutions at Ghataprabha -

- General Nursing Diploma Course School.
- Nursing College with UG & PG Courses.
- Ayurvedic Medical College with UG & PG Courses.
- Junior Health Assistant Female Training School.
- Naturopathy and Yoga Centre.
- 200 beded Ayurvedic Hospital with Panchakarma Therapy.
- Working Women Hostel.
- Shri Jagadguru Gangadhar Murusaviramth Prasad Nilay.
Ist and 2nd delivery services, Immunization services to children and mothers and family welfare services including sterilization operations are free.
All T.B. Indoor patients are given free food and Tiffin through SHRI JAGADGURU GANGADHAR MURUSAVIRAMATH HUBLI PRASAD NILAYA which was established on 02-03-1983. All Maternity patients and poor patients are given free food and Tiffin with the help of SHRI GOKUL EDUCATION TRUST BANGALORE from 15-10-2005.
Very poor are treated free or at concessional charges and all others are treated at reasonable and affordable minimum charges irrespective of caste, creed, class and area.
We are conducting free Blood Donation Camps, Free Eye Checkup and Cataract Operation Camps, Special Health Checkup Camps for ladies, Cancer Detection Camps, Orthopedic and Dental Checkup and Treatment camps in villages and in Hospital.
We have taken up Information, Education and Communication Programme of I. S. M and H. in surrounding taluks with the help of Govt. of India, Department of “AYUSH”.
We have adopted 50 thousand rural populations for mother and child health check up and treatment. Every month surrounding villages are visited by our team of Doctors with Para Medical staff to treat the children and mothers free of cost.
We are conducting health awareness camps, HIV/AIDS awareness and control camps in surrounding villages.
The Institute provides Allopathy, Ayurveda with Panchakarma and Naturopathy and Yoga Therapy to the needy patients. The organization imparts Medical and Nursing education to students in our campus at Ghataprabha.
