About Us

Introducion

Sri Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences was born in the year 2006 with a vision to establish a multispecialty hospital in Agaram Village of Puducherry, Union Territory of India, where in particular the poor could receive free advanced medical care in an atmosphere of love and compassion and to create a world-class teaching and research environment. Annually 250 students admitted for undergraduate MBBS degree course, postgraduate degrees in Eight specializations –Community Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, Radiology, Otorhinolaryngology, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry and Ph.D degree programmes. Sri Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences recognized by Medical Council of India and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi and affiliated to Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai. Admission Procedure

Sree Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, located in Pondicherry, is one of the campuses of BIHER Chennai. It was founded in the year 2007. The institute offers MBBS, B.Sc. & M.Sc. in Allied Health Science, MD/MS programs at UG and PG level. It also offers Ph.D. courses at research level.

The MBBS programme offered by the institute is in two areas, namely, Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).

  • The duration of the course is 4 years and 6 months.
  • The students must go for one year long internship.
  • There is a total of 150 seats for this programme.

The admission to the programme is done through an entrance examination. The entrance examination will carry questions based on the syllabus of senior secondary school. For applying, student must fill in the application form correctly in their handwriting. It is mandatory to attach the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) mark sheet and other required photocopies of the original documents, attested. There is also a medical examination conducted by the university and only candidates who are declared fit will be allowed to pursue the course.

  • It is also required that the candidate must have completed 17 years of age on 31 December in the respective year of academics.
