VIT Vellore Admission is offered to these courses is offered based on the scores obtained in the VITMEE exam, which is held in the June, 2023. UG Admission Eligibility Criteria

The VIT Vellore eligibility criteria for various UG programmes are listed below.

• Valid scores in the Higher Secondary Examination administered by the CBSE/ State or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 70% with compulsory subjects: Accountancy, Commerce, or Mathematics.
• The B.Tech eligibility criteria for the Vellore Institute of Technology require an aspirant who has passed 10+2 exams with 60% marks (50% for reserved category) in PCB/ PCM stream from a recognized board.
• The B.Des eligibility criteria for the Vellore Institute of Technology require an aspirant who is passed 10+2 exams with 60% marks in any stream from a recognized board.
• For B.Com, BBA and BCA, the candidate must secure complete class 10+2 with 60% aggregate.
• For B.Arch, a 50% aggregate score in class 10+2 is necessary. Applicants must also attend the NATA exam.

PG Admission Eligibility Criteria

• An aspirant must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 
• Bachelor’s degree in any related discipline of at least 3 years with 60% minimum marks from a recognised institute.
• All applicants must attend the accepted entrance exams, attend the personal interview round, and perform well in the VITBEE.
• Shortlisting will depend upon the overall academic performance, entrance score, PI, UG aggregate and relevant work experience.
• For MBA, graduation I a must with a minimum of 60% aggregate. Applicants must also attend MAT / XAT / CAT / ATMA / NMAT / CMAT.
• For M.sc, 60% aggregate in class 10+2 and UG course undertaken is necessary. Accepted entrance exams are GATE and VITEEE.
• For MCA, candidates must secure a 60% bachelor's degree aggregate and a valid score in GATE or VITMEE.
• For MSW, applicants must secure 60% aggregate in graduation.
• For M.Des, 60% aggregate in graduation is a must. A relevant score must be secured in the CEED.
• For M.Tech, applicants must complete class 10+2 with a minimum of 65% aggregate and complete their bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate to get shortlisted in the VIT Vellore selection process 2023. They must also obtain a relevant score in the GATE OR VITMEE.

The highest package has been bagged by 2 students of B.Tech CSE. As compared to 2021, this year saw an increase of 2.25% in the number of companies that visited to offer jobs to students. The table below displays the list of top recruiters in the year 2022.

The institute also concluded its 2022 summer internship placement drive. 118 recruiters visited the campus. Major recruiters included Fidelity Investment, HPE CTY, JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, Visa, ZS Associates, etc. The highlights are mentioned below:

Scholarships

Each year, Vellore Institute of Technology offers scholarships in the form of tuition waivers and freeships. While merit scholarships are awarded to class toppers, economically challenged students are provided need-based financial assistance. Furthermore, NRI and foreign students are given scholarships upon presenting meritorious records. Students from rural backgrounds who secure top ranks in VITEEE at the district level (in Tamil Nadu only) are given free education.

Students who wish to pursue MTech are also given scholarships, given that they score well in the GATE exam. In addition, scholarships are given to students who excel in sports and games. Financial assistance is also provided to students who wish to do their project work in partner universities and institutions abroad, under the Semester Abroad Programme (SAP). In order to encourage the students to pursue active research, VIT also awards appropriate research associateships to meritorious and needy students.

Scholarship Types

Although scholarships at VIT Vellore are based on need and means, a majority of scholarship schemes offered at the institute level are mainly merit-based.

GV School Development Programme (GVSDP) – Toppers of State/ Central board along with VITEEE rank holders are given tuition fee waivers of 100% for up to four years. The table below shows the bifurcation of tuition fee waivers against the total merit:

Scholarship under STARS (Support the Advancement of Rural Students) – Top 10 students from rural government schools, who are eligible for admission and have a family income of INR 1.5 LPA will get a 100% fee waiver for their academic and hostel facilities including basic medical expenses.
