About VITEEE

Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology every year for admission into undergraduate engineering courses such as B.Tech. Every year around 2 lakh students applies for the exam at Vellore Institute of Technology every Year. All the eligible candidates will be offered admission to B.Tech programs at VIT Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal, and Amravati campuses. 

VITEEE exam is conducted as a computer based test for a duration of 2 hours 30 minutes i.e., 180 minutes. Educational Qualifications

VITEEE 2023 eligibility criteria as per the age limit of the candidates are as follows.

Eligibility Criteria for Qualifying Examination

  • Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2023 should have secured a minimum aggregate of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
  • Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2023 should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

Subject Eligibility

  • Candidates having studied Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry in +2 / Higher Secondary Board are eligible
  • Candidates having studied Biology/Physics/Chemistry in +2/ Higher Secondary Board are eligible for the following Bio stream programmes only. Upon joining, the students need to mandatorily register for a bridge course in Mathematics

Age Limit

VITEEE 2023 eligibility criteria as per the age limit of the candidates are as follows:

  • Candidates born on or after Jul 1, 2003, are eligible for VITEEE 2003.
  • Candidates must have completed 18 years of age as of Jul 1 of the Admission year (2023).

VITEEE 2023 Admit Card

All candidates who will apply for VITEEE 2023 exam must download the admit card from the official website. Every eligible student must complete VIT Slot Booking process to get the admit card for the exam.

VITEEE 2023 Exam Centres

VIT conducts VITEEE in 116 exam centres across India. In addition, VITEEE is also conducted in 4 overseas countries: Muscat, Qatar, Dubai, and Kuwait. Candidates are free to select their preferred exam location, date, and hour. However, they must keep in mind that these spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, candidates must ensure that they reserve their spots in advance.

VITEEE 2023 Exam Pattern

Candidates should be aware of the revised VITEEE Paper Pattern to plan their preparation for and develop an effective strategy to score the maximum marks in the exam. Knowing the exam pattern and marking scheme will give candidates an account of the distribution of questions and relevant marks of the actual exam, which can help them strategise in writing the exam for the maximum marks. Mode: VITEEE 2023 is a purely computer-based test (CBT). The questions are multiple-choice questions (MCQ).

Duration: VITEEE 2023 is 2 hours 30 minutes, and there will not be any kind of negative marking.

Sections: As per the new notification released by VIT, the number of questions for each section has been changed, and now Mathematics/ Biology will consist of 40 questions, the Physics and Chemistry sections will have 35 questions each, the Aptitude section will have 10 questions & 5 questions will be asked from English.

VITEEE 2023 Syllabus

VITEEE 2023 is similar to the NCERT syllabus of classes 11 and 12. Candidates must thoroughly go through VITEEE syllabus before applying for the exam. Having a good idea of the syllabus and exam pattern will give candidates enough insights into how to go about their preparation process. VITEEE 2023 tests the candidates' strengths in the subjects they opted for in their 10+2 or equivalent exam. Therefore, the syllabus will be close to the syllabus of NCERT (10+2) subjects. VITEEE 2023 are Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology, English, and Aptitude.

Difficulty Level: Questions that will be asked in VITEEE 2023 will be from XI and XII syllabi. VITEEE 2023 will focus on testing the candidate's understanding and analytical approach toward the subjects in XI to XII.
