Evaluation of D.Sc (Doctor of Science) Thesis
Upon successful submission of the thesis, it’s evaluation is done in two stages - screening and evaluation.
In the first stage, there is a screening panel with subject experts. A copy of the Ph.D thesis and the publications out of the thesis along with the D.Sc thesis is submitted to two examiners present at the screening panel. The examiners compare and check the thesis. Only if both of them recommend that the thesis is original, it is then be considered for the next stage that is, evaluation. In case, a thesis is found to be inappropriate, it is rejected. Many times, the thesis is recommended for revision, in such cases, candidates are required to submit the revised thesis not earlier than six months and not later than two years, from the date of communication of the report from the University.
