The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) was constituted in 1962 by the Government of West Bengal, in exercise of the powers conferred under Article 162 of the Constitution of India pursuant to No. 828-Edn(T), dated 02.03.1962 for the purpose of conducting Joint Entrance Examination for admission to various Institutions in West Bengal imparting education in medical, engineering and technological courses.
The Board was awarded the status of Statutory Body enacted vide “West Bengal Act XIV of 2014” named as “The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board Act, 2014”.
The Board is empowered to conduct common, combined, competitive, entrance examinations for admission to the undergraduate as well as postgraduate professional and vocational courses in various higher education institutions in the State of West Bengal.

WBJEE eligibility criteria age limit for the candidates appearing for WBJEE is as follows.
Academic Qualifications
Should have passed the 10+2th (or equivalent) exam conducted by a board recognized by the Central and State Governments.
Candidates should have qualified in Physics and Mathematics along with any one of the following Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Computer Application as compulsory subjects in the qualifying exam.
The above-mentioned subjects should have also been passed individually in regular class mode (theory and practical). Candidates who will be appearing for the qualifying exam will also be considered eligible for the WBJEE 2024 exam.
WBJEE qualifying Marks Required
General category candidates should have scored an aggregate of 45% in the three compulsory subjects in the 10+2th (or equivalent) examination.
As per WBJEE qualifying marks, reserved category candidates should have secured an aggregate of 40%.
