About this Course
BAMS is an undergraduate medical degree in Ayurveda that combines classical Ayurvedic concepts with modern medical sciences, preparing graduates to practice as Ayurvedic physicians and pursue clinical or academic careers.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants need to pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and meet the minimum percentage criteria as notified by AYUSH authorities and state counselling bodies, along with meeting NEET UG qualifying cutoff.
Admission Process
Admission to BAMS is through NEET UG; candidates apply, sit for NEET, then participate in AYUSH counselling conducted at national or state level, where seats are allotted in Ayurvedic colleges based on rank and preferences.
Entrance Exams
NEET UG is the key entrance exam for BAMS; some states may also conduct separate AYUSH counselling rounds but they still use NEET scores as the basis for merit and seat allocation.
How to Prepare
Students should prepare for NEET UG with focus on PCB subjects and also build conceptual understanding of biology and chemistry, while exploring basic Ayurvedic concepts through reference books to align expectations with BAMS curriculum.
