FeaturedDentalUndergraduate (UG)
Bachelor of Dental Surgery
Average Fee: 45000
About this Course
BDS is the undergraduate professional degree in dentistry that trains students in dental anatomy, oral pathology, restorative dentistry, oral surgery and community dentistry, along with a compulsory rotating internship.
Eligibility Criteria
Students must pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (and English) from a recognized board, secure the prescribed minimum aggregate marks (typically 50% for General, 40% for reserved categories), and qualify NEET UG.
Admission Process
Admission to BDS is based on NEET UG scores; candidates register for national or state counselling, fill choices for dental colleges, receive seat allotment as per merit, and complete document verification and fee payment at the allotted institute.
Entrance Exams
NEET UG is mandatory for BDS admissions in India, and no separate national dental entrance test is conducted; colleges use NEET ranks for counselling and seat allocation.
How to Prepare
Preparation for BDS admission is identical to NEET UG preparation: thorough study of PCB syllabus, emphasis on NCERT, regular MCQ practice, full‑length mock tests, and focused revision of high‑weightage dental-related topics in biology.
